Lawyer Says Potential Suitors Will Not Pay Her Bride Prize, But The Man Cannot Be Her Head

A lawyer Edidiong Offiong, has raised dust online after she told potential suitors that they will not pay any bride prize on her head.

She however listed about 10 conditions she expects her potential suitors to meet to make their marriage a success. According to Offiong, her children in the marriage will bear both her name and that of her husband. In addition, she is not going to add her husband’s name or surname to hers.

The other conditions she listed include:

“The number of children we would birth will be my decision to make not yours.

“Aside from carrying the pregnancy to term, there is no other responsibility you cannot carry out e.g bathing the kids, feeding them, changing diapers etc.

“We both have equal rights and say so before any significant decision is made, we would table it and have a discussion then either meet up in the mid point or we go for the superior idea.

“You are not my head, you are not my leader. We are partners, we are equals, we are adults.

“We would have a court wedding.

” There’s no room for polygamy; the moment you decide to bring another woman, I have the right to leave.

“House chores will be outsourced”.

However, her comments has raised so much dust online with some netizens concluding that she is not interested in marriage.
