Heads and Brain : A Play By Eziwho Emenike Azunwo

In every community, there exists a delicate balance between authority and accountability, between power and conscience, between comfort and moral responsibility. HEADS AND BRAINS is a dramatic exploration of this balance, a vivid portrayal of how leaders and citizens navigate fear, loyalty, and the consequences of action or inaction.

This play was conceived to examine the complex ways influence shapes society. Through the voices of Ofor, Ofele, Agu, Nnenna, and Ibe, we witness the struggle of ordinary people confronting injustice, rising insecurity, and the moral ambiguities of leadership. It is a story of courage and confrontation, of wit and wisdom, where the intellect of the mind meets the instincts of the heart.

Poetry, humour, and sharp dialogue pulse through every scene, offering moments of levity alongside the weight of social realities. Songs, cries, and rhetorical exchanges serve as instruments of reflection and critique, allowing the audience to feel the tension between what is said and what is meant, between tradition and progress, between fear and hope.

At its core, HEADS AND BRAINS challenges us to question the relationship between authority and justice, to examine the impact of silence and complicity, and to consider the consequences of choice. It is a story about leadership, morality, and the responsibility each individual bears for the well-being of their community.

It is my hope that this play will entertain, provoke thought, and inspire dialogue, inviting every viewer to reflect on the roles we play in shaping the societies we inhabit.
