Veteran actress Ireti Doyle, has spoken out for the first time over her divorce to award winning broadcaster Patrick Doyle. She spoke during an interview on the Morayo Afolabi Show. The actress said; keeping her divorce private is a personal decision as she stated clearly that the public is not entitled to details about her personal life.
When asked about the silence that followed her divorce to ace broadcaster Patrick Doyle, she said:
“First of all, you didn’t hear anything because it was none of your business. The only people you owe any explanation at all, are those small family and friends that gathered on day one, you see this larger audience that you are performing for, they do not care.”
The actress said, her focus is on personal growth rather than looking for public validation, as she believes that such experience is best handled privately than making it public knowledge.
She also hinted on why she never wanted her divorce matter to be discussed publicly.
“I personally won’t give myself as a click bate. The end of a long term marriage is painful, so all that energy you are using to perform for an audience who doesn’t care to sit down and understand what went wrong for the soul purpose of not making the same mistake again is nothing.”
Ireti Doyle announced during an interview with Chude Jidenwo in 2023 that she and Patrick have officially divorce, though they have been separated since 2017 . The couple, who married in 2004, have children together.
