American female table tennis legend Serena Williams, has opened up about the pains she is going through in her marriage to husband Alex Ohanian.
The tennis star says despite the love shown to her by her hubby, his family has refused to accept her because of her skin colour.
The tennis star revealed this in an interview posted on model Moiz Burhan instagram handle.
She said, despite Alexis’ support and care, there has always been this quiet tension among his family members, an unspoken wall that always make her as if she is not wanted.
“I’ve broken records and built my life from nothing,” Serena said softly. “But in some people’s eyes, I was still not enough and I know exactly why.”
“I’m proud of my Blackness,” she said. “I no longer chase anyone’s approval my worth stands on its own.”
