Dangote Refinery has reduced the ex-depot price of liquefied petroleum gas to #760 per kilogram on October 7, 2025, undercutting competitors charging #910 to #950 per kg and marking the second cut in recent weeks.
Retail prices in cities like Lagos remain over #1,000 per kg as distributors have not passed on the savings, leading to consumer calls for direct deliveries. The price reduction follows the resolution of a labor strike at the refinery over worker dismissals, with operations now at full capacity to enhance domestic production.
Oil and Gas experts believe that the difference in price is part of a strategic move by Dangote Refinery to regulate pricing at depots and cut down unnecessary price increases that have been the bane of the LPG market.
