Veteran comedian Okey MacAnthony Onyegbule, professionally known as Okey Bakassi, has refuted the rumour making the rounds that he has parted ways with his wife – Ezinne, of 25 years
The veteran actor and radio host, said since the rumour went viral on Monday, he has been receiving calls from friends, families members, colleagues and other concerned individuals from home and abroad.
The comedian noted that the rumour is the handiwork of a mischievous person who wants to destroy his marriage by all means.
You will recall that a report emerged online in Monday which said that the actors wife Ezinne, who he calls Zizi, has filed for divorce 15 years after relocating with her children to the United States to study nursing.
However Okey while refuting the claims in a video he posted on his Instagram handle said, that he is still together with his wife and in addition, his family is not based in the USA, neither is his wife a nurse.
The actor disclosed that he just celebrated his 25 wedding anniversary with his wife as he prayed that nothing can happen to their marriage by God’s grace
Okey said:
“Please, my wife and I are still together, God forbid anything will ever happen to us.
Someone was busy on social media trying to disrespect me and my family. One idiot, one charlatan went on social media and created an article with my name, my picture with that of my wife on it. Alleging that we have gone our separate ways
Since then, friends, family and fans have been calling me and my wife from all over the world with this troubling news. We just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in Canada.
“Those of you who are close to me know that my wife does not live in the US and she’s not a nurse as reported by the author of that article.”
Okey Bakassi and Ezinne got married in Port Harcourt, River State, in 2001, and the marriage is blessed with three children.
