The much publicised diaspora home coming that will bring over 300 Africans in diaspora back to their root, has commenced with a breath taking performance at the Freedom Park, Lagos, last weekend.

The event which brought together more than 18 music artistes from the Barbados, Jamaica and other Carribean countries and their host Nigeria, kept the guests at the Freedom Park, Lagos, on their feet till midnight.

According to Ambassador Felix Duke, President of the Creative Industry Group, (CIG), the co-partners of the Diaspora home coming event, the concert which took place on Friday October 10, 2025, at the Freedom Park, Lagos, was a complete success.

It had performances by 18 artistes from the Carribeans like Mr Blood, Leone Teape, Nikita and Minister David G, including several Nigerian artistes from the CIG group led by its President Felix Duke.
According to Ambassador Duke
” The concert on Friday was a success despite the heavy rain that fell on the mainland.
“We were surprised that the rain didn’t get to the island and it didn’t fall till after the concert was concluded”.

The event attracted entertainment bigwigs like :Mr Rilwan Bello Osagie, Zeb Ejiro, and Patrick Doyle including visitors from the United States Of America, United Kingdom, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica
The home coming train has now moved to Calabar, the Cross River State capital where the diaspora team will be hosted for one week by the state government.
Tagged the ‘Diaspora Home Coming Tour, this epoch making event is powered by The Creative Industry Group, CIG, in conjunction Global United Christian Congress of Africa in Diaspora, GUCCAD and AAHHF.

Over 300 Africans in the diaspora are expected to participate in this 14-day event, touring Lagos and Calabar, and showcasing Nigeria’s vibrant artistic and heritage landscape.
