Former Big Brother Naija housemate Veekee James, has praised her mother for her virtues and faithfulness to her late father despite losing her husband when she was still small.
The fashion designer, confessed that since her father passed on, she never saw her mother with any man. Adding that the only man that attempted to woo her mother never lasted.
When her father died, she said her mother promised she was not going to marry again and she focused on bringing them up alone.
Her words :
“I’ve never seen my mom date any man before. The only time it looked like one uncle was talking to her, he didn’t even last. I didn’t know what happened, but their conversation just ended.
“Since I lost my dad till this very moment, my mom has never slept out of the house, unless it’s a vigil.
“I remember when my dad passed, one of our pastors in church asked her, ‘Oh, are you going to remarry?’ She said no, that she’s never going to remarry because she wants to dedicate her life to raising her children.
“The kind of person that my mom is… my mom obviously hustled. There is nobody in Ajegunle, in our area, that doesn’t know my mom. She literally worked in so many stores there. She made clothes for so many people.
“I learnt the business of tailoring from my mom. So I believe that the kind of person she is, and the kind of person she was while we were growing up, also impacted us.
“Because then she will always tell me, ‘No follow man. No do like this,’ I could literally see her as example. She’s raising three children, and she could have been going out with different men to support us, but I never saw my mom with any man.
“Even me, when I wan dey do stubbornness follow man, I go come dey think am say, ‘Wetin I dey really dey find? What exactly am I looking for?’The person raising a child, whatever they do while raising them is very important…”.
