Actress and evangelist Eucharia Anunobi, has narrated how her father refused to support her education just because she is a girl- child. The woman of God shared her heartbwarming experience on Honest Bunch podcast.
Anunobi disclosed that her father was never interested in her education because his assumption was that training a girl child is a waste of funds . After training the girl child, she will get married and leave the house .
However she was determined to make it in life despite her father’s objection. After the movie ‘Glamour Girls’, which launched her into fame, she went to London for an award. When she came back, she presented the award to have father who prayed and blessed her.
Her words:
“My father was not interested in my education. What’s a girl child. After all they are going to get married. He never supported me. After the ‘Glamour Girls’, I became a hit and went to London for an award. All these I did without my dad’s support. I was just pushing.
” Eventually when I went to London, I brought my first award home and I said; ‘daddy this is my award, I know I didn’t do what you wanted me to do, but you can see the honour I brought.
“For the first time, he looked into my eyes and asked me to kneel down. He picked sand and blessed me. That’s was the first time my father blessed me . He didn’t pay my school fees, he didn’t support. He said, ‘as they can’t count the sand’ they will not be able to measure my glory .
“From then, when he talks to people, he will say; ‘she is my daughter’. That was when he hugged me and gave me the go ahead and so, I had the endorsement from my father. My mother has always been supportive although she could not come out loud to say it”
